Ascent Trip Report

After a late evening with my family enjoying my sister's USN Captain retirement party, my cousin Bud and I awoke at 6 AM regretting allowing others to pour the tequila and i dropped him off at Ronald Regan Airport and venutured up the DC highpoint.

Not particularly scenic, but i enjoyed reading the history of the site was the furthest confederate advance into Union territory and how Lincoln had to be a bit concerned learning of their advance into the DC area. I did not see evidence of the old fort there but there is and old tower in with the public works site.

I parked over at the Wilson HS and walked around and up to the reservoir, tower, public works site, the middle school and up to the big field.
