Ascent Trip ReportWinter ascent of Mt Everett. I have done this climb before, but in summer when the road has been open to just past the pond on the left. This time around, that road was closed and covered in several inches of snow. I entered from the Mt Everett Reservation on Mt Washington Road, west of the mountain. It was a tough climb in the snow along the road until meeting up with the Appalachian Trail just past the pond. From that point on, it was a much steeper climb with even deeper snow. The view on the summit was incredible of the rest of the plateau as well as north to the Adirondacks & Mt Greylock. The peak was covered in a layer of ice offering 360 degree views plus a bench on the north slope slightly below the summit offering great views of Berkshire County.
