Ascent Trip ReportA sunny day after a fortnight's freeze - ideal conditions for walking on one of the boggier areas of the Peak. Set out from Fairholmes, crossing below the Derwent Reservoir dam, along the east side of the reservoir, then ascending Nether Hey. Sheets of ice covered the rivulets and pools as the path ascended over High Stones on Howden Edge (551m) and Margery Hill (546m). The highest point on the summit is an inclined rock flake North of the trig point, although a rocky tor the South East makes a more satisfying perch. Descended Cranberry Clough, nad picked up the Derwent Reservoirs bus near West End on Howden Reservoir for a lazy return to Fairholmes as the light faded.
