Ascent Trip ReportHiked Nippletop and Dial as part of the ADK High Peaks Forum 8th Annual Winter Gathering. I hiked with Dave "Scotzman" Campbell, Tracy Gourlay, Dan, BorealChick, Cindy, and another.
From Lake Road we took the Gill Brook trail to Elk Pass (the trail off Lake Road past the turn-off for Artist Falls). The trail on Elk Pass was very icy, warranting crampons. We summited Nippletop, and from there went to Dial. After Dial, we descended the trail going to Bear Den Mtn and the Shoulder of Noonmark. The entire hike warranted crampons.
Nippletop marks the 13th W46 high peak (interesting, in that it is also the 13th highest ADK High Peak; this was not intentional!)
