Ascent Trip ReportHiked up Devil's path until just before it turned east. Then ascended North Dome. Mostly followed rabbit tracks to avoid the ledges. This worked out extremely well. Once above 3500 ft the climb became a walk in the woods. We made a straight line for Mt Sherrill afterwards. The bushwack through the Balsam was not as bad as reported on other sites. The col has a nice view of Panther and lines up with it very nicely. We felt we spotted a few very very old trail markers? and then climbed Sherrill from the col. The climb to Sherrill was relatively easy and we just tried to gain as much elevation as quickly as possible and that made it easy. We stopped and looked at the view point on Sherril (SE of the peak) and the made it over to the cannister. We then descended down Sherrill .. This time trying to keep as much elevation as possible following the little ridge that falls to the WSW of Sherril. We finally gave up all the elevation as we spotted an old woods road on the east sid e of the stream that leads to Shaft Road. We had one stream crossing before we reached our second car at the Shaft Road parking lot on 42,
