Ascent Trip ReportA snowstorm was coming through northwestern NC, making this a bit more interesting than a casual hike. I took the Profile Trail, but the parking area wasn't accessible - I parked at a BBQ restaurant about a quarter mile south of the trailhead.
Nice hike, but no views. I'll have to come back. This is a good trail to take on a windy day. The trees and ridge shielded me from the 25-30 mph winds that gusted up to 50 mph. The top was obviously exposed, and I didn't linger long.
