|Others in Party:||Pete Dunn|
|Date:||Thursday, November 16, 2006|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||14150 ft / 4312 m|
Ascent Trip ReportGot up early and jumped in Pete's subaru, drove over through Ouray and grabbed some coffee then up into the basin. We got his subi pretty high up and parked on the side of the road near a large drainage feature. We hiked up past some other 4x4s and up to the Blue Lakes Saddle via the main trail. The climbing up the S. ridge was not technically hard but was very fun. A little bit of smoothed and exposed rock later we were at the summit. I can almost see Dad's vinyard from here!
WE got a bit off course in looking for lavendar col to descend, crossed some exposed cliffs and starting skiing down the scree filled col, what a hoot! (look out for hikers coming up)
THen back to Telluride for the rest of Blues and Brews fest......
