Ascent Trip Report

The approach roads are very confusing. Bill had scouted out an approach that we took out there (I don't have the details). The road goes into a deep wash near the point marked 2368 and the exit looked dicey so we stopped just before the wash. But from that point to very near the mining sites, the road was in good condition.

On the way out we tried what looked like a simpler route but found that Roberts Road appeared to blocked with a fence. We were able to follow the fence south one block where there was an unlocked gate. From there we took Tita Way south to Linsey Road, which we took east to the paved Alamo Road.

When the road ends, there are old mining routes heading up (mostly north) to mining sites and shelters. From where it ends, there is a fairly descent route up (mostly west). It gets brushy a couple of times, but most of it is good clean rock. Once above 4000', the slope eases off, and the ground becomes mostly soil (with very little brush). The very top is a relatively flat ridgeline. The summit is at the far western end of the ridge.
