Ascent Trip Report

From the road to Toroweap take county road #5 west at a sign junction to Mount Trumbull. Follow this road for 7.2 miles to a signed trialhead on the right side. This is just past a junction next to a BLM forest camp at Nixon Spring. From here a good trail heads east along the south side of the mountain and then after a couple of short switchbacks heads north to the broad summit area. The trail is about 2 1/4 miles to the top with an elevation gain of 1500 ft. The hike up requires about 1 1/4 hours. 7/99 RLC
