Ascent Trip ReportAbsolutely gorgeous day - mostly sunny and 35 degrees. Hike up was a steady climb uphill. The trail comes near the ski slope at one point but never merges. A few small stream crossings, but the 1st has rocks carefully placed to allow passage and the other two were mostly covered with ice and snow and were no trouble. Snow was well compacted but I wore the snowshoes so I wouldn't have to carry them. Shortly after I reached the summit cairn, I was joined by another hiker, Jeremy, who goes by Rocket21 on VFTT. Surprised that someone else was hiking solo on Christmas... We chatted for a bit - he pointed out the few other peaks visible from the mostly wooded summit - and shared the trail down until he opted for the ski slope. I even made it out in plenty of time before sunset.
