Ascent Trip ReportHaving done two peaks the two previous days with hikes of over 10 miles for each, I just ran out of energy when I got to the lake at 8733 after 7 1/2 miles. I was slowing down and knew that the last 1 1/2 miles with 2000' of elevation gain was a bit more than I was up to. I waved Dennis on and he went and picked off the summit, one he needed to finish up the Idaho county highpoints. He was only the 4th to accomplish that feat and the first in about 7 years. My only regret was not being there on the summit with him to celebrate his accomplishment. My effort ended up being a 15 mile round trip with no summit to show for it. I will probably return to finish this one off.
