Ascent Trip Report

We ascended Cascade, took in the sights, and our lunch amongst the throngs, and then headed over to Porter. Along the way, we checked out a false summit just before the actual summit, which was steep, but offered good views itself. Near that false summit was a rock outcropping that finally afforded a view of the water in Little Meadows. (I had seen it on maps several times but hadn’t yet seen it with my eyes.)

When we reached Porter’s summit, I was impressed with the view of the Eastern High Peaks. Numerous ranges were visible. The view is actually better from Porter, because Porter itself blocks some of the view from Cascade.
