Ascent Trip Report

A walk on a scenic sand bluff ...... 300 yards, 20 minutes RT.

We traveled south on Hwy #13 to Mile Marker 7.2 and its intersection with #704 (Kiptopeke Road), large "Kiptopeke State Park" sign on corner. We drove southwest on 704 a very short distance to a right on Arlington Road, .56 miles left on Butlers Bluff Drive, .84 miles to a grass driveway on the right (site of a future house) at the bottom of the sand bluff, on the left in the driveway for house #3061. We parked here, this was my TH. The highground is 50 yards to the right on top of the bluff.

I walked back on the road 40 yards to where a swath has been cut/removed from the bluff, this swath leads to the beachfront at about 100 yards. I walked west about 50 yards to the north-south bluff line where I noticed high ground on both sides of the swath. My not-too reliable eye level told me that they are the same height.

I first walked south up the steep sand embankment and chose my high ground spot at GPS 37.17925, -75.99090 (the PB coordinates puts the spots south of here at a lower elevation).

I then went back down (north) to the swath and climbed to the north side high ground and picked a spot at GPS 37.17981, -75.99079, about 60 yards from the south spot.

This area has a number of Reality Signs also a number of new homes have already been built on the bluff to the south, proof that this HP will one day be gone.
