Ascent Trip ReportSierra and I met Michael at the Denning PA for a loop over Rocky, Lone, Peekamoose, and Table. He needed Lone and Rocky for his 35er's, and I needed all four for my winter list. We left the PA around 8:20 and followed the Fisherman's Path to the base of Rocky. There was a slight base of snow, but it was firm enough to walk on without snowshoes. The ascent of Rocky took about an hour. Just as we began the ascent, we found a small pocket of hemlocks that might be among the largest I've seen. One tree was 3-4 feet in diameter. There seemed to be at least 6-8 inches of snow on all of the summits, but it was packed well and only required microspikes in a few slick areas. We bushwhacked from Rocky to Lone, which required some route planning around the cliffs. Stay right! We ate lunch on Lone and found more cliffs to navigate on the was to Table. Once we hit the saddle, the climb to Table was fairly easy and not too dense. Saving Table for last, we hiked directly to Peekamoose and enjoyed to view near the summit. After backtracking to Table, we stopped for a few minutes at the Bouton Lean-to, followed the trail across the Neversink, and mad it back to the PA by 5:45. Total Mileage - 13.1
