Ascent Trip Report

I approached Peak 2820 from Sardine Creek. Go west from the town of Gold Hill and turn north on the signed Sardine Creek Road that is also signed as the route to the Famous house of Mystery. Cross the railroad tracks and at 3.3 miles go left, at 4.4 miles pass the House of Mystery, at 5.0 miles the road becomes BLM 35-3-30, at 6.5 miles go right and in another 100 yds find a place to park along the road. There is a locked gated road that goes left from the main road that is heavily posted. If you stand in front of the gate, go left up an old logging track that is used by ATV's.

Climb up the hill a couple hundred feet until you come to a small saddle. The main track goes left, but there is a hidden track that goes right. Follow this track down a couple hundred feet until you see a bermed lesser road on the left and then take the left. Follow this steep old road all the way down to Ward Creek, cross the dry creek and go up to the road on the other side. Turn left and follow this road down Ward Creek, crossing it again and to a place where the road widens out into an old log landing. Turn right and follow this road up a couple hundred yards until you can see another very old brushy bermed road going left. Climb this steep old road up to a good road along the ridgeline. Turn left and follow the road to the base of Peak 2820. it is a little brushy climbing this final slope up to the summit. I had no views because it was foggy. I don't think there is much to see on a clear day.
