Ascent of Currahee Mountain on 2011-12-31
|Date:||Saturday, December 31, 2011|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||1740 ft / 530 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThe road to the summit is named for war hero Robert F. Sink, and there's a museum in Toccoa commemorating the paratroopers he trained on this mountain.
The summit is about a 20-foot climb from the end of the road. There's a RM pointing to a hidden BM under one of the towers.
Views from the summit are limited because of trees.
My GPS showed the top contour at 1680 rather than 1740.
