Ascent Trip ReportThis was my first time starting at the trailhead (usually I had stopped where the sign indicated a 4x4 was recommended). I'm not sure a 4x4 is really needed as the road isn't rocky or too sandy, but the ground is loose enough that I would worry a passenger car might get stuck.
The trail is much better now, and it should be easy even for a novice to follow. As mentioned in an earlier report, there are two trails initially- one in the wash, and one on the ridge. I recommend the wash as the ridge gains and looses extra elevation, and more importantly it has steeper grades with loose rocks and sand.
There is a very brief section of upper class 2/lower class 3, but other than that it is all class 1.
