Ascent Trip Report

We hiked Helen's Trail up The Pinnacle, starting from Mountain Road. After descending The Pinnacle, we followed a snowmobile trail (I think) toward Rose Mountain. Several handmade trail signs are posted at various spots along the way. This was an out-and-back hike, and we hit Lyndeborough Mountain on our return.

This was my first official winter hike of the season. There were a couple of inches of loose powder on the trail, but nothing that required gear for traction. We enjoyed the summit views from The Pinnacle and Rose Mountain on this crystal-clear day, with a more limited view from Lyndeborough Mountain. There is a nice view of North and South Pack Monadnock from Rose.

These are small mountains and the hiking isn't too strenuous, but this was a worthwhile, rewarding hike that I'd definitely recommend.
