Ascent Trip Report219 South; past Silver Lake WV you'll soon see the "smallest church". Approximately 0.6 miles and after the second yellow 'sharp turn arrow' you'll immediately see the "Maryland Highpoint" sign on the right as well as a small pull off to the right. (It sneaks up on you. It seems like the green/white sign is new.) Hike back towards the curve (north) and take the dirt road up. There are red spray painted HPs on the trees and numerous cairns as you near the top. There is a left turn near the top of the ridge marked by cairns. Take this and make your way along the ridge. You'll pass a turn to the marker for the WV/MD border and soon see very bright red and white signs for the high point. They just logged the area and must have replaced all of the old signs. A nice view from the peak.
