Ascent Trip Report

From NJ 23 go south on CR-511/Boonton Avenue. From northbound NJ-23 one must pass Boonton Avenue (see overhead sign) and make a U-turn at the next jughandle, which is signed for CR-511 south. From the turn off southbound NJ-23, take CR-511 south 1.5 miles, turn left (E) onto Saw Mill Road for 0.1 miles; turn right (S) onto Round Hill Road for 0.4 miles; turn right (SW) onto Alize Drive and follow it for 1.1 miles to a cul-de-sac. Park and hike the gravel road uphill to the NE. This becomes a woods road, posted against hunting by the Morris County Park Commission. Follow your nose up the ridge for a little over a quarter mile to an open summit with decent winter views.
