Ascent Trip Report

My son, Marshall, and I parked my car on the NW side of Gander "Mountain" in a parking lot for a ski area that had a lot of construction in progress. We avoided the construction and stayed low along a grassy meadow before crossing a low wire boundary marker and followed game trails to the summit after hiking about .25 mile. A summit benchmark was easily located on the top where a trail connected from the north. There was a good view to the east and northeast, but the other directions were blocked with trees. Upon returning to the car, we found a "No Trespassing" sign on the ground at the edge of the grassy meadow. We did not see any other posted signs, however, and the construction workers did not seem to mind that we parked in the ski area's parking lot.
