Ascent Trip ReportThis was a first attempt at climbing MacNaughton. I found a disabled hiker about 1/4 mile down the trail and became involved in a rescue operation that lasted several hours. When all was complete I hiked the maintained part of the trail in order to establish some bearings for a future attempt on the peak. Normally people climb from the opposite side of MacNaughton coming from the Adirondack Loj. I was attempting to climb a shorter distance and from a dryer area than normal. The unfortunate part was that from this location it was a longer bushwhack with no herd paths to follow.
