Ascent Trip ReportThis was my daughter's first ADK high peak hike. So we picked an easy one to do. The hike was relatively easy. There were great views from the summit of both peaks! On the way up a young man caught up to us carrying a basket with champagne and glasses in it. Turns out his friend was going to propose to his girlfriend on the summit of Cascade just as her parents did. He was going up early to have the basket with champagne already there waiting for them. We were on the summit when the happy couple arrived and he popped the question to her! :-) She said yes! Hopped over to the summit of Porter where we ate lunch, then headed back down to the car. Overall, it was a great day with the girls!
