Ascent Trip Report

An easy southbound bushwack up a Power Line Right-of-way ..... .4 miles, 25 minutes RT

We approached from the north after visiting Woodchuck Hill, using the route in Michael Schwartz's TR. From the Village of Jefferson (intersection of hwy 10/2) we drove south on CR42 (Peck street), .25 miles left on Potter Hill Road (becomes Mount Jefferson Road at Tompkins Hill Road), 1.56 miles to a right on Sunrise Sunset Drive at the crest of the road, .16 miles to the overhead Power Lines, Parked here this was my TH, the summit is to the left up the Power Line Right-of-way.

I ascended the right-of-way southbound about .18 miles to the highground with a dusting of snow on the ground ....... the BM is 5 yards inside the woods, on the east side of the swath, southeast of the Power Line Pole. Embedded in concrete is a "US Coast & Geodetic Survey, Wilson, 1942", my GPS read 42.45837, -74.61945.

A track leads west 40 yards to a Communication Tower with a shed, the track continues to the southwest, perhaps to Mount Jefferson Road.
