Ascent Trip ReportAfter passing the ski resort's chairlifts, getting to Wildcat E was a blur. I didn't really realize when I reached it and kept going down the trail. My knee was aching seriously now and I had to be very careful to reduce the pain. Still I went as fast as I could manage. I crossed a couple on the way down, but that was it. As I lost altitude, snow and ice disappeared. Temperatures rose too and when I reached the bottom, it was quite warm. I found a safe way across Peabody River and reached highway 16. I hiked along the road to Pinkham notch where, as I entered the parking, I saw Éric along with our bunkhouse neighbors. it was now 11:25am. I greeted everyone and Éric told me they had just arrived.
It turns out right as they reached the road from 19 Miles brook trail, a car stopped to pick them up. The mountain guide driving even took them directly to their car. I changed into clean clothes and we went inside to look around the shop. I bought the map of the Carter Range, and we then headed off towards Glen. We took the scenic route and passed by Crawford Notch before heading to highway 93.
The way back home was uneventful and we made it to Québec around 6:00pm.
