Ascent Trip Report

w Random. This was a hike for the ladies - I simply played the role of the guide and sherpa. My knees and ankles were bothering me on the steep downs earlier in the week so to avoid them I skipped the steep ups and simply pulled out my sleeping pad and lounged at the trail junctions or the top of waterfalls while Monica and Tomoko climbed up to the summits. They flew up and back to first Phelps and then Table Top while I got to talk with all of the passing hikers. Monica and I got to Lake Arnold so early that instead of doing it on Friday Monica went up on her own to claim the summit - which meant we could sleep in on Friday morning before having to break camp. We had some dinner, talked with the kids that were camping nearby, and sat by the lake watching the sun fade and the ducks play. An easy walk out and then showers at the High Peaks Information Center concluded our Adirondack Adventures. Monica Trust and Tomoko.
