Ascent Trip ReportMy drive-up route following ODF's Bill Ostrander in his Chevy Suburban: At Beatty drive south 3.1 miles on Yellow Jacket Springs Rd;left 5.1 miles on good dirt FS road; right 2.5 miles; abrupt right
on unsigned "secondary" road 0.4 mile; left 0.5 mile; right at 1.0 mile; right at 0.8 mile; continue 2.0 miles to open summit of Yainax Butte, 15.4 miles from OR 140. 4WD advised; high clearance mandatory. Though rough and steep in places, the road was completely brush-free and unobstructed. Some logging activity in progress.
