Ascent Trip Report

Started out at the Rt.108 trailhead for the Long Trail and followed it to the lodge and then up to the summit. It was a warm day at the base. Sunny and about 55 degrees. The summit was about 30 degrees and there was snow on the ground. It became partly/mostly cloudy at the summit but there were breakthroughs to allow for excellent views of the surrounding areas.

The trail was a lot wetter on the way down than it was on the way up which made for a messy, slippery, and tricky descent. We took the Profanity trail back down to Long Trail and the Profanity trail was especially wet.

Overall, it is quite a challenging hike, but well worth it. Round trip was a bit over 4 hours with stopping for photos and water breaks.
