Ascent Trip ReportI made contact with the FAA early in the week and was given hassle-free permission to travel on Laurel Mountain. The signage at the lower gate is relatively extreme. Seek permission!
The mountain was fully enveloped in clouds, which made the structures at the top very eerie and very cool. I was happy that the heavy rain from earlier in the day on Rogers had diminished.
I used Edward Earl's report from cohp.org, which was definitely helpful regarding distances and turns. Stick to the main road and you'll get there with no issues.
About 30 minutes round trip from the car, including time poking around for the highest point once at the summit. Though the round trip from the interstate will take hours.
