Ascent Trip ReportStarted at Little Si TH at 7:30am with Dave, Patty, and Sean (and Ava and Sienna). Hiked Little Si trail until it switches back to the West, then headed on a due East bearing to scramble the West side of Si. Bushwhacked for a while and then it opened-up a bit and had pretty good (i.e., not much brush) as we headed straight up the West Face of Si. We then hit an avi gulley and headed-up that generally staying on the left or right edge of the gulley -- lots of loose rock and significant risk of CIRF (Canine Induced Rock Fall). Ava knocked loose a cantaloup-sized rock that plunked Sienna in the side (Sienna didn't seem any worse for the wear but Dave and I then headed off into the trees a bit more to avoid the CIRF.
We found a pack near the top that was partially buried by rock-fall -- looked like it have been there a season or two and was probably carried down by a snow slide. We looked inside but it was pretty rotten -- I did take the cell phone and will see if I can figure out whose Samsung we found. We got to the top at 11:15am (sunny at the top!) and then headed down the trail and back to the cars.
