Ascent Trip Report4am start in the dark through the forest with headlamp. Sunrise at saddle was beautiful, as was the summit all to myself at 7am. Some snow high in forest packed and crunchy but passable. Snow banked on saddle and nearby rises of the mountain. Rocky and large steps but good footing up a few false summits above treeline, trail protected from the wind until the summit. Slightly windy on top, made hands and face cold and quickly turned back after pictures/register. Signed register as highpoint #14, really #15. Great views all around from top back to treeline. Lots of people coming up through forest during 3 hours down with breaks, on the road by 1030. Beautiful aspen forest with yellow and falling leaves and recent wind event had downed trees. Wildlife present including large bird (quail?) and squirrels.
