Ascent Trip Report

Columbus day hike with Dad. Did Wachusett over Monadnock because I thought it would be less crowded but when we got there all the parking lots were full. People everywhere around the summit, less so around the perimeter. 7+ miles in 3:30. Not too shabby for the old man. He's fast on the straights and uphills but takes awhile gettin' down.

Started out the hike with an itinerary and route but in true Thompson man fashion once we got going we threw away the plan and made trail decisions on the fly. Sometimes the world is better that way.

Best part of the hike was in a quiet area under a wind turbine, off of Stage Coach Trail, we had some granola bars and Baxter Brewing Stowaway IPAs that I had stowed away (ha!) in my bag. If that's not nice I don't know what is.
