Ascent Trip ReportSome of the trip reports on CoHP make this seem as if a) it is in a dangerous neighborhood. It isn't and b) as if you have to walk any distance whatsoever from either Merrick Road or the Saint Francis Friary to reach the lovely antenna that crowns the highest point in NYC. There is no elevation gain and this shouldn't take you more than two minutes to reach from the road. Nothing to see. I think the coolest part of this is that the antenna is clearly visible as you cross the Goethals Bridge heading into Staten Island.
