Ascent Trip ReportThis is one county highpoint that you definitely are NOT going to drive up. There is an old jeep trail on the south side of the mountain that an ATV would have trouble going up. This trail is now heavily used by recreational horse riders from nearby Love Valley that claims to be the "Horse Capital of the U.S." There is even a sign in Love Valley with "Town Rules." One of the rules is "No Motor Vehicles Allowed on Main Street;" only horses I assume! After the climb of a little over 1/2 mile, I came to a small summit communication tower and I wondered how they service it. I guess it has to all be done on horseback. I was unable to locate the summit benchmark, but there is an opening in the trees to the east for a small summit vista. Unfortunately, it was too foggy for my wife, Geri, and I to enjoy it.
