Ascent Trip ReportI approached Frog Lake Butte from Hwy 26. There is a Frog Lake Sno Park south of the Mt Hood area and north of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. The PCT crosses the highway at this point also. Turn into the Sno Park on the east side of the road, go a few hundred feet to a paved road on the right heading southeast, zero your odometer and go 0.2 mile and turn left on a gravel road. At 2.3 miles stay left and at 2.8 miles reach the summit area where there is a comm tower and building. The high point is hidden about .5 mile north from the comm tower. Either park near the tower, or take the dirt road heading north, stay left at a fork and park near the fire ring about .2 mile from the tower.
Easy hike down a slope that has been thinned to a grassy saddle. At one point there is a great view of Mt Hood. Once at the grassy saddle, continue north into the old growth forest up to the high point. Pretty forest, no views. The high point is not real distinct because it is a flat forested area. I walked around until I was satisfied there wasn't a big rock hiding in the trees.
