Ascent Trip ReportThe road up to Jamanota (pronounced Yah-man-ota)was closed, so we parked off the side of the road at the gate (though the gate was down). It was a hot, short hike. From where I parked, it was 3/4 of a mile to the top, took about 20 minutes. Views are better at the circle just before the final turn (at the gate and small building). Lots of goats and good paths through Arikok National Park. If you take the trails to the north, you pass some old gold mine ruins and shafts. Very neat place, you can see the whole island.
