Ascent Trip Report

8am start. Parked at the first lot after the AT, mud and potholes made the road impassable beyond (for a low clearance vehicle). Ran up to West Peak via dirt road, fire warden trail, Horn pond trail, AT. Did this as an out/back run, didn't continue to Avery (wanted enough time to bag Sugarloaf). Added on South Horn on the way back.
Splits: Lot to trailhead 4:19, To Horn Pond tr junct 22:34 (26:53), to AT 36:30 (1:03:25), to Horn 14:00 (1:17:25), to West 39:03 (1:56:28), Rest 3:08, to Horn 40:58 (2:40:36), To AT 22:36 (3:03:13) including side trip to North Horn of just over 6 minutes, to Junction with Fire Warden trail 33:33 (3:36:47) includes an unplanned side trip to the camping area on the AT...poor signage and poor navigation, to trailhead 19:27 (3:56:14) to end of road 4:22 = 4:00:38 total time including 3 three minute breaks.
