Ascent Trip ReportAn unseasonably warm fall day. Hiking part of the Sentier National (National Trail) up to Mont-Ouareau in Matawinie area of Lanaudière region. Trail is very nice.
Two good panoramas on this hike. The first, a 100 m detour to the right off the main trail just below the summit leads to a very nice overlook above Lac Ouareau. After passing over the summit there is a second panorama towards some smaller lakes and some more hills. Foliage is getting close to peak, so the views were greatly enhanced. The trail loops back around and meets back up to descend the way we came up.
