Ascent Trip ReportI wanted to get one last big hike in before my hiking season ends. I eventually decided on the Osceolas.
My dad and I got to the trailhead for the Mount Osceola Trail at about 8:30 AM and started hiking a few minutes after that.
The trail kept a mostly moderate grade to the summit of Mount Osceola. There were no major trail intersections along the entire section we hiked (Tripoli Rd. to East Osceola and back). It was wet, rainy, foggy, and windy the entire way. The trail winded up the slopes of Osceola for 3.2 miles and after 2 hours and 15 minutes, we eventually reached the summit.
The summit was viewless due to the low clouds. There were two summit markers and the base of a demolished fire tower on it. I got some video and pictures, took a break, and then we continued to East Osceola.
After leaving East Osceola, we passed over Mount Osceola's summit once more before heading back to the trailhead at Tripoli Rd.
