Ascent Trip Report

I had already climbed Mount Mitchell from the parking lot which doesn't really count as a complete ascent, so after hiking several miles on Deep Gap Trail and then returning back to the parking lot I felt I needed to climb to the tower on Mount Mitchell again in order to claim a more legitimate climb of North Carolina's highest point.
