Ascent Trip ReportAs far as I can determine, Potato Hill is the 11th highest named summit point in North Carolina. The peak is located along the Deep Gap Trail and the trail goes right next to the highest point. My wife, Geri, and I hiked here from Mount Mitchell and Potato Hill was our last goal to summit, but we had to reclimb Balsam Cone, Big Tom and Mount Craig during our return hike to Mount Mitchell.
