Ascent Trip ReportCapitol Peak was the first stop on my circular, soggy, rainy, foggy, cloudy Grand Tour of the Capitol State Forest.
I used Craig Willis's directions on summitpost to get from 101 to Larch Mountain, a 2000' prominence peak and the main goal of the day, and stopped for Capitol on the way. The road was gated and I took the modest uphill road walk to the towers at the summit. Lacking plans for the rest of the day, I went ahead and jostled around on the north hill as well.
With the ceiling at about 1000', if views are to be had, I'm the wrong person to ask.
A Discover Pass is required for travel within the Capitol State Forest.
