Ascent Trip ReportRan over this on the way to Mount LeConte via Boulevard Trail. Almost unnoticable top unless watching where you are on topo map (or have GIS). Actual top is probably 50-75 feet off the right side of the trail (toward Charlie's Bunion).
Sunrise start resulted in two black bears about midway between Newfound Gap and Ambler. Young 'un ran off into the woods, but about 4 foot long mama bear seemed unimpressed with us and casually walked along trail before clearing off. She sat and watched us pass.
