Ascent Trip Report

Park at the pull out, or hike up the ski slopes from Big Boulder. I was at this high point in the late 70's early 80's and forgot completely about it. Keep on the road and go past the big towers on your left. Strike for the single tower that is straight on. Keep an eye right, as you should see an old set of metal steps that climb up some boulders. When I was first here 30 years ago, they were in fine shape. Now they are a ruin (but a lot of fun!). Most of the steps are missing, but you can EASILY scramble up the rocks. There is a fairly recent benchmark (1991)but the view is better from the ski area. If you want a nice view, when you are passing the top of the ski area to the north, hike over. Good little ski slope, great views from the top of the ski lift.
