Ascent Trip ReportThis was a very pleasant solo hike. The trail leading from the campground is very easy, and at many points along the way there are multiple routes to take. Going on my own, it was real nice because I didn't have to ever stop or slow down. A guide book I have told me that it would be three hours round trip to do Sacagawea. I made it to the top on this warm day in just an hour. The valley was hazy due to forest fires near Missoula, but it was not very windy at all. There were three other groups sitting on top while I was there, and one man took a summit photo of me. Seeing as I set aside all of this time to come up here, I traversed the massive bowl over to Naya Nuki Peak. This is the name on the topo map, but I have never heard anyone ever call it that or even mention it in Bozeman. It is overshadowed by Sacagawea by only 69', and is more known for the Great One Couloir, which I had skied just a few weeks prior. However, I had not summited Naya Nuki, so I checked out the couloir from the top, and then climbed back up and summited. I went back to Sacagawea and descended on the main trail. I made it in just under three hours for all that off course hiking.
