Ascent Trip ReportThanks to Lee Newton for his trip report which was very helpful. There are now 2 parking areas: Les Faux at the crest of the hill on the left/south and Mont Sinai a further 50 metres on the right/north side of the D34.
We criss-crossed the wooded plateau to include visits to the Observatoire du Sinai with its views, IGN trig point and pill box defences with interesting World War 1 information boards, then proceeded on foot via the other 286 metre spot heights north of the road to another marked spot height of 292m just over 2km due west (at the cross-roads of forest paths near label "Le Chêne Martin" on IGN map, but not discernibly higher than many similar points on the surrounding plateau). For completeness we returned via the 286m spot heights on the road itself and in the forest to the south on the fascinating 'Les Faux de Verzy' trail with its dwarf beech, oak and chestnut trees. Quite honestly any walk in these woods will make you the equal highest person in Marne.
