Ascent Trip Report

4th of 8 high point summits by my son, Bryan, and I over a span of 3 days. We started from the Elk Garden trailhead and followed the AT to the top. About a 4.3 mile hike to the top. Never seen so many wild blackberrys in one location before! We ate a few while we were hiking. It had rain quite a bit befire we started out hike and the trail was wet and muddy. The rained stopped when we started our hike, but clouds continued to move in and out during our hike up. It was pretty cool! Saw a few other hikers but saw none as we approached the top and none during our hike back. There's no view from the top, but there's some nice views during the hike up. We took our time going up and Bryan took pictures during our hike up. Seems like it took us about 4.5 hours to do the total round trip.
