Ascent of Cheriton Hill on 2011-08-19
|Date:||Friday, August 19, 2011|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||188 m / 617 ft|
Ascent Trip ReportOne of a pair of Kent Marilyns (P150m hills) ascended at dawn prior to a Dover to Calais ferry. Both flat-topped hills with a trig point not on the summit and the true top a matter of opinion. This is the most easterly Marilyn (and HuMP) in the UK. Parked by The Cat and Custard pub and visited all possible significant locations, including the trig point and the top of the covered reservoir which is much higher than the field corner that is the probable natural highpoint.
