Ascent Trip ReportWe stated out around 2:00 am with cold temperatures and clear skys. The goal was to summit and watch the sun rise. Once we reached Lake Helen the wind was steady at around 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. When we reached 13,000 ft.+, low clouds rushed up the mountian in spectacular fasion, bringing 60-70 mph gusts and snow and ice. After pressing on for a few more minutes, it bacame clear that we weren't prepaired for these kinds of windchills and we had to turn back.
