Ascent Trip ReportWe woke up and there was a new small stream next to our tent. We got started at about 9:15 on our way to Whiteface, the Sleepers and the Tripyrimids. We decided to go for it with wet packs and all. The sun came out soon after we began our hike, but the trails were water filled most of the way. We were determined to stay dry as long as we could avoiding stepping into water as much as possible. Michael and Andrew had warmed their boots and tried to dry them out over their stoves before we left. I had on my toe warmers--ahh, so nice and toasty. I have decided for fall and winter hikes my "little hotties" are an essential part of my gear list. There is no sense in letting my fingers and toes freeze if I don't have to. We met a couple at the summit--on their first date. They said they met on some internet dating site--match.com. Cool first date, wonder if there will be a second. Off to the Sleepers...
